Low Power Reconfigurable Analog-to-Digital Converter

چکیده
The objective of this project is to create a low power A/D converter␣ to be employed in a battery power ed wireless sensor. The key requirement of the converter is that it be able to cater to a wide␣ range of input data-rate (1sample/ s to >1Msample/s), and produce a␣ r esolution ranging from 8 bits to as high as 16bits, consuming the lowest possible power consumption. A possible subset of applications envisioned for the A/D converter is depicted in Figure 2. This large size of data-rate versus resolution space warrants the need for several different A/D converter architectures. However, such a converter implementation would require a prohibitively large area. Further, in the event that the total area required is larger than that can be supported by a single chip, the speed of the␣ converter would be dramatically r educed due to offchip parasitic capacitance.

An Architecture for a Reconfigurable Charge- Summation Based Adc
Presented in this paper is a low power, area efficient reconfigurable analog-to-digital (ADC) converter, utilising a charge-summation technique with a switched-capacitor implementation. Using a non-inverting switched-capacitor integrator a staircase ramp is produced using switching capacitors and a fixed reference voltage, as opposed to a linear ramp. The advantage of the charge summation techn...

We present the procedure for designing a high speed and low power all-optical analog to digital converter (AO-ADC), by integrating InGaAsP semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) with InP based photonic crystal (PhC) drop filters. The self-phase modulation in the SOA can shift the frequency of the Gaussian input pulse. The two output PhC based drop filters are designed to appropriately code the f...

The commercialization of Marconi’s radio transmission and reception, along with the development of integrated circuits in the 1960’s have facilitated many new consumer products for wireless communication, where the mobile phones or handsets are one. These handsets started out as a portable phone, mounted in cars, and have with time added additional services as Short Message Service, and have to...

This paper presents a reconfigurable digital design of filtering and decimation for a cascade 2-2 sigmadelta ( ) analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The ADC reconfigures its MASH (Multi-Stage-NoiseShaping) topology and building blocks in order to adapt the bandwidth requirements to diverse standard specifications. متن کاملA Digital-Front-End Enhanced Multi-Mode/Multi-Standard Wireless Receiver
This paper presents a multi-mode receiver concept for different transmission standards like UMTS and IS95. Due to the use of a Digital-Front-End (DFE) the requirements for the analog part of the well known direct conversion receiver (DCR) architecture decrease because channelization and fine frequency tuning are shifted from the analog into the digital domain. The adaptation of the channelizati...
